It has come to my attention this week that a magnificent board game called 'The Period Game' is in existence. As the name suggests, this is a game that attempts to explain the process of menstruation in a fun and engaging matter for young girls.
Code Red is an organization that provides feminine hygiene products and personal care items to homeless women. It was founded by Ileri Jaiyeoba back when she was in high school (she is currently a freshman at New York University) and I had a chance to interview this inspiring teen recently.
In the developed world, poverty stricken and homeless women also find access and funds for feminine protection to be a struggle. Imagine having to choose between buying a box of pads or dinner?
