On #GivingTuesday Empower a Homeless Woman

Today is #GivingTuesday and so I urge you to consider donating as little as $5 and your charity will have a profound effect on the lives of two homeless women.

As the Female Empowerment Bracelet tracks the entire cycle, it will help young women know when they are most fertile. This knowledge could prevent them from participating in unprotected sexual intercouse or might motivate them to use protection if they do, thus avoiding pregnancy.

Did you know that pregnancy rates among homeless youth are much higher than throughout the general population?

According to this study up to 22% of homeless female youth currently are pregnant whereas amongst the general population the rate is about 12%.

Additionally, most homeless women don't have access to a cell phone and so although period tracking apps are awesome and helpful, not so much for those that need them most.

A Female Empowerment Bracelet is a low-tech alternative and along with helping keep track of fertile days, it grows an awareness within the woman about the entirety of her cycle and days, helping her know when to best look for feminine hygiene products amongst other things.

For every $5 donated, I will personally deliver TWO bracelets to homeless women in my city of Toronto. If you have an organization where you would like me to send bracelets, please do not hesitate to contact me and I will do just that.  As this is running for a limited time, simply click the "other" button on the donation page  and enter 5 (or whatever denomination you wish to contribute).

Alternatively, you could also donate to our partner CodeRed which provides menstrual management products to women living in the margins of society.

No one is useless in this world who lightens the burden of another.
