The world feels raw all over again.
There has been yet another mass shooting and 17 innocent teenagers in Florida have lost their lives while attending their high school.
I am haunted by the images of madness and terror and such a senseless and tragic loss of life.
It makes me so angry that this isn't the first time, or the 10th time. There have already been 18 school shootings in the US this year. It's only mid-February!!!! When will it end?
I believe in the inherent goodness of humanity. I have to believe that the policy makers will actually make policies that serve the people who elected them, rather than policies that serve big business and bank accounts. I can't imagine anyone wants to live in a country where school shootings are commonplace.
I want to live in a world free of terror and violence.
I know I am not alone.
Praying isn't enough.
We, regular citizens, must do something.
I don't know what I can do, sitting up in my frozen Canadian paradise but I have found myself a little softer and gentler with those around me and the strangers I encounter throughout the day. Everybody deserves a smile and a pleasant and positive interaction, at least when they're dealing with me.
Won't you join me?
Let's smile at each other, hug each other, love each other.
Let's heal the world with love.
It's the only thing that can save the world.
The answer is always love.
