I was flipping through the book 'The Awe-manac: A Daily Dose of Wonder' by Jill Badonsky and I came upon this on page 222, right between the end of June and the beginning of July. It gave me pause, as it intended, and I trust it can do the same for you.
Well, it's the halfway point of another Amazing year.
Take a moment to reflect on the first half with light fascination.
What were your highlights?
What things are you glad you did?
What worked for you?
What small moments brought you delight?
What made you laugh?
Who did you connect with?
Ask these questions for the rest of the year:
In what small way can I pay attention to small delights?
How can I be a little kinder to myself?
Can I give myself permission to have more fun and less pressure?
How can I remember to sing in the shower?
It's a great idea to take stock of what you've done, and failed to do, and readjust your plan of action accordingly. In this way, we may easier find the success we are seeking. I am doing just that and urge you to do the same.
I wish you luck my friend.
Tomorrow will be a big day where I live. It's Canada's 150th birthday. It's a big deal and there are parties and fireworks and celebrations galore. If you're Canadian, I sure hope you wear red and whoop it up! Even if you're not Canadian, wear red anyways. Everybody looks fabulous in red!
Whatever you do, stay safe and spread a little joy!
