This is a wonderful video with such a great message. We should all take Amy’s advice and have a moment of gratitude with our bodies on a daily basis. Be thankful and appreciate everything that makes us living human beings, starting with our breath and moving outward. So many people, especially girls, get caught up in having the perfect body with the right measurements that society deems is ideal. We are more than our body parts, so much more. “You don’t need bigger boobs. You need to read better books.” The casual acceptance of cosmetic surgery horrifies me. I know a slew of women who’ve had boob jobs and most are mothers of daughters. They saved money for years, one even getting a part-time job that was the “boob job” and all proceeds went solely to her PSF, Plastic Surgery Fund. Finally they treated themselves to get drugged and cut and manipulated into a C cup. They suffered through recovery, catheters and bandages, blood and pain and emerged bigger. I can’t say any one of them is better, they have the same insecurities as before, they just have bigger boobs. Time will tell what the ramifications their decision will have on their daughters but it already makes me sad. Natural breasts of all shapes and sizes are beautiful. I’m going for a mammogram later this month but right now I am thankful for my healthy breasts.
